Due to personal commitments within the band, Bathroom has decided to take a break from performing for the next few months.

status of 9th august jam session: cancelled. (ben is working.) shall we, on our next session, do a 3 or 4 hour block to make up for the lack thereof?

bathroom acoustics will definitely be playing at the nanyang junior college arts fest rock concert. it is called the palooza and will be held either on 23 or 30 october (both saturdays). venue unconfirmed. the event is from 7.30pm to midnight.

we may also play on 4 september and 6th november at the stage is yours, organized by the national arts council and the central singapore cdc. it will be held at the toa payoh town centre amphitheatre which is outside the toa payoh community library. the event is from 5.30-7pm.

we may also play on the 27th of october at the NUS community showcase at the university cultural centre theatre at 7pm.

great session today. it was short but packed with quality. thanks juan for offering your place for us to "make noise" :) and thanks fadhly for agreeing to travel all the way to gombak considering you live in tampines. hope you guys had a good time with ben though i must say his one-fingered percussion technique leaves much to be desired. hahahaha! anyway, this is our song list for friday and for the gig:

okay guys, a few things i want to say:

1) please come prepared so we dont waste money in the studio doing things that we can do at home, ie. learning songs. i understand sometimes that the song downloads arent transferring, but i guess we could be more proactive and ask the rest to send the songs to us if we happen to be online. i myself am guilty of this (havent downloaded "pretty when you cry" and "tidal wave") *sheepish grin*

2) please be positive; for example, try not to give excuses but instead constructive solutions. helman, sorry lah, this one i must mention already. if havent prepare songs, dont ask me "so how" lah... what can i do? hehehe. you guys know what i mean right? fadhly, i appreciate you shifting your plans today earlier so that you can jam with us. i also hope that we can schedule jamming (and if possible, gigs) so that it doesnt interfere with our "personal" lives.

3) please talk! :) anything not sure, any songs you wanna replay, any comments, suggestions, please tell us! juan i noticed you were a little quiet today. sorry if fadhly and i were too engrossed in talking about "hemorrhage" and may have left you out.

sorry guys, i dont mean to sound all authoritative and all that, and i know that you guys have your own commitments other than the band, but i really hope that we can sustain the wonderful start that we enjoyed, and i know that with our individual talents in our own areas, we definitely have the potential to go very far - and i mean, making it big.

i dont mean to pinpoint anyone in particular because i have my own flaws and i recognize and am trying to overcome these flaws, but i hope to set the record straight in the beginning to avoid unnecessary conflict in future (touch wood!)

basically, what im trying to say, but have put in a very longwinded way, is:

bathroom acoustics consists of ave on vocals, helman on drums, juan on bass and fadhly on guitar and back-up vox. formed on 26 june 2004 and fronted by ave, a 1st year undergrad at the NUS faculty of law, bathroom acoustics plays sadly beautiful emo and already have their definitive first original song, red poppies. helman is a 1st year IT student at singapore poly, juan is a 1st year mass commer at ngee ann and fadhly is an NSman. heartrock @ the INterchange on 31st july is their first public performance.

hey guys, go download julia by our lady peace. its piano with vocals, but im thinking it'll sound damn good if fadhly can convert the piano parts into guitar solos, juan come up with bass accompaniment and helman relak one corner and hiss sometimes :) first step at originals?

to all bassist-try-outs....i hope that you'll forgive us and give it a shot if you find us not up to your standard...we have not even played together...not even once...we have not gone out of the "formation stage"...so i hope you will be the last jigsaw in this huge puzzle that involves us all...gambling our lives...

to all musicians of this band....once the jigsaw is completed...i hope there is no looking back on the past...and everything is all about looking forward and making music together...may our dreams come true...

for the jamming-cum-audition-for-bassist, here's the deal.

audience: we have 2 bassists coming to check us out. michelle from better than run and ed, whom i found online. (another bassist named ed might also be joining us.) my boyfriend ben is coming to watch too. and of course we have our temporary bassist joel. fadhly's xuan is coming too.
